Description
Enter a historic Tuscan chocolate shop and discover how real artisanal chocolate is made. Visit the workshop, meet the artisans, and taste specialties made according to recipes from 1974.
Step into the heart of a historic Tuscan artisanal chocolate shop and discover a tradition that has been handed down since 1974. Your experience will take place entirely inside the Catinari family workshop in Agliana, Tuscany, where chocolates and pralines have been made for over fifty years following the original recipes of the founder, Roberto Catinari.
The activity begins with a brief introduction to the history of the company and the passion that has guided our work for generations. Today, the tradition continues thanks to a new generation that maintains the same artisanal values and the same attention to quality that made the Catinari name famous.
During the visit, you will enter the production areas of the workshop to get a close-up look at the different stages of chocolate making. You will discover how the raw materials are selected, how an artisanal praline is made, and what techniques we use every day to guarantee a product of excellence.
You will then take part in an interactive session during which you can personally decorate a chocolate bar to take home as a souvenir of your experience. This activity is suitable for both adults and children and is one of the most popular parts of the visit.
The experience will continue with a guided food tasting of various specialties produced directly in the workshop. You will taste different types of chocolate and discover how to recognize their aromas, scents and characteristics. Depending on seasonal availability, some of our most representative creations may be presented.
Throughout the visit, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact directly with those who work in the workshop on a daily basis, making the experience authentic, informal, and engaging.
The activity starts and ends at our artisan workshop in Agliana (Pistoia) and does not involve travel to other locations. After the visit, you can purchase the products you tasted directly in the company store.
This is not just a food tasting, but a journey into the world of real Italian artisanal chocolate, within a family business that has preserved and passed on its passion for over half a century.
