Description
This private day trip from Florence to Pisa, Lucca and Carrara fits three Tuscan stops into about ten hours, with a private vehicle for every transfer, so the pace is yours.
The first stop is Pisa and the Piazza dei Miracoli, with the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral and the Baptistery side by side. Next comes Lucca, circled by well-preserved Renaissance walls. You get free time here to wander the old streets or sit down for lunch, which is not included.
In the afternoon you reach Carrara and the Apuan Alps for a guided visit of the marble quarries that lasts about an hour. There are two options:
- Outdoor quarry experience, the default: expert quarry guides take you through the marble mountains in 4x4 vehicles
- Indoor quarry experience: a look inside the caves, to request in advance
The 4x4 vehicles are used only inside the quarry area. A guided tour of Pisa or Lucca is not part of the day, and the ride back to Florence ends it. It suits anyone who wants three famous places without managing public transport.
